The short answer

The average US residential electricity rate was 17.8¢/kWh in November 2025, down 1.1% from October and up 5.5% from November 2024. North Dakota had the cheapest electricity (11.9¢) and Hawaii the most expensive (40.2¢), while Mississippi saw the biggest monthly increase (+5.9%).
