Applicost doesn’t ask for an account or any personal details. This page explains what data is processed when you visit, including by Google.

Calculators

Calculations run in your browser. If JavaScript is turned off, the values you enter are sent in the page address so our server can show the result; we don’t store them in a database or link them to you.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, for example which pages are read and how visitors arrive. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects information such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser. We don’t send Google your name, email or anything you type into a calculator. You can block it with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. More: How Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Advertising

Applicost is free because it shows ads served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.

You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google’s My Ad Center, or opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info. Ads never change the numbers on this site.

Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent before cookies are used for ads or analytics, and can change that choice at any time from the privacy link on the consent message.

Cookies and local storage

Applicost itself doesn’t set cookies. The Google services described above may set their own cookies. If you switch between light and dark mode, that preference is saved in your browser’s local storage on your device only.

Server logs and security

Our hosting provider and Cloudflare process standard technical data (such as IP addresses and browser type) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. These logs are retained for a limited period.

Email alerts

If you sign up for rate alerts, your email address is stored by our email provider and used only to send those alerts. Every email has an unsubscribe link.

Affiliate links

Some links go to partners such as Amazon. If you click them, those sites may set their own cookies under their own privacy policies.
