Applicost provides estimates for general information. Actual electricity costs depend on your utility, rate plan, fixed charges, taxes, appliance model, settings and usage. Don’t rely on our figures as financial, engineering or purchasing advice.

Data and reuse

Electricity rate data originates from the U.S. Energy Information Administration (public domain). Our compiled tables, calculations and charts are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0): you may reuse them, including commercially, if you credit “Applicost (applicost.com), based on EIA data” with a link.

Embeds and API

You may embed our calculator widget and use our public JSON and CSV files free of charge. Keep the credit link in place and don’t make excessive automated requests; we may rate-limit abusive traffic.
