US Electricity Prices: September 2025 Report
The short answer
The average US residential electricity rate was 18.1¢/kWh in September 2025, up 2.7% from August and up 7.5% from September 2024. Louisiana had the cheapest electricity (12.4¢) and Hawaii the most expensive (39.5¢), while New Hampshire saw the biggest monthly increase (+13.7%).
