US Electricity Prices: December 2024 Report
The short answer
The average US residential electricity rate was 16.3¢/kWh in December 2024, down 3.4% from November and up 3.7% from December 2023. North Dakota had the cheapest electricity (10.2¢) and Hawaii the most expensive (42.4¢), while Hawaii saw the biggest monthly increase (+6.9%).
