The short answer

The average US residential electricity rate was 16.9¢/kWh in November 2024, down 1.4% from October and up 4.1% from November 2023. Idaho had the cheapest electricity (11.3¢) and Hawaii the most expensive (39.7¢), while Rhode Island saw the biggest monthly increase (+28.3%).
