US Electricity Prices: September 2024 Report
The short answer
The average US residential electricity rate was 16.8¢/kWh in September 2024, up 1.3% from August and up 3.4% from September 2023. Louisiana had the cheapest electricity (12.0¢) and Hawaii the most expensive (40.9¢), while Maine saw the biggest monthly increase (+10.5%).
