US Electricity Prices: August 2024 Report
The short answer
The average US residential electricity rate was 16.6¢/kWh in August 2024, down 0.1% from July and up 4.3% from August 2023. Louisiana had the cheapest electricity (11.7¢) and Hawaii the most expensive (42.3¢), while Connecticut saw the biggest monthly increase (+7.0%).
